Alexis Templeton

Potter Alexis Templeton lives and works in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador – a province that continues to inspire her work through its strength, endurance, and beauty. She opened her first studio in 1990 and has been producing functional work in evolving styles ever since, all of which reveal her affinity for the natural world and draw on her knowledge of glazing techniques. Alexis is drawn to the technical and creative challenges of working in clay. “I deeply enjoy throwing a form on the wheel, the alchemy of glazing – and creating pieces I know people will use every day,” she says.
